Hi, I’m Emily.
It all started in 2022.
The Cookie Nook made its first appearance at the Dorchester Fair in October 2022 (as “Emily’s Cookies”) selling decorated Sugar Cookies, Biscotti, Coffee, and our first iteration of Nookies. After a couple years of Fairs and vendor shows, The Cookie Nook Dorchester Store opened in May 2024, half the size it is now, and with a very small, amazing local staff. Since then, we have expanded the store and kitchen to keep up with the growing demand in Dorchester. And, in September 2024 we took over the Concession in the Flight Exec Centre (Dorchester Arena).
Our steady growth and popularity across London allowed us to expand into Byron, an amazing community in West London, at the end of November 2025. Why Byron? I grew up in London, went to post secondary in St. Catharines at Brock University, and came back to work in Dorchester. When I decided to expand and open another location outside of Dorchester I was looking for a place that had that small town community feel. I had a lot of customers who were travelling across London for their Cookies and Fresh Bread each week and I wanted to bring The Cookie Nook to them. Byron was the right fit for us because of the close sense of community the area emulates. Schools close by, a central “hub”, a beautiful park, and, of course, great people. I have many friends and family who live in and around Byron who told me that a bakery and coffee shop is something that was missing from Byron.
We are so excited to keep expanding with new products and locations!
Cookie Nook Values
I think it's really important, when making food products, to only use ingredients I’d eat myself. We don’t use ingredients you wouldn’t find in your own kitchen at home. I also do my best to make sure there is something for everyone. We carry Gluten, Dairy, and Egg Free items, as well as vegan items in store so that those who have dietary restrictions can still come out with their friends and not feel left out. Something else that guides my business is high quality customer service. I think that life moves so fast that sometimes we forget about the little interactions that make our days better. I always tell employees that “The goal with every interaction is to make the customer smile. If you can make someone smile you’ve made their day a little better”. The amazing employees at all of our stores really emulate this everyday and I am so lucky to have found such amazing people to represent The Cookie Nook.
To me, being a small, local business means employing local people, including giving local students their first jobs, and also, providing high quality products and services using as many local resources as possible. We make most items in-house, and the things we bring in are all local. The Fresh Bread and Croissants we bring in daily are from La Noisette, a small business located in London. The organic coffee we use is from Patrick’s Beans, another small business in London. The Gluten Free cookies we bring in are from Rosy’s Kitchen in Ingersoll (10 mins from our Dorchester store).
When people walk into our store I hope that they feel welcome and happy. I always say it's hard to be sad when eating cookies. So I hope that The Cookie Nook can be a place for people to celebrate the good things in life but also a place they can go to turn a bad day around.

I am very excited to share that we won the 1st place Platinum award in the 2025 Community Votes London “Cookies” category.
